Viber Bot Integration

The Viber integration allows you to connect a bot account to the system to receive and send messages to clients directly from the Chats platform interface.

Note

This page covers the integration of a Viber chatbot. If you are looking for information on integrating a personal Viber account into the Chats platform, take a look at the Viber Personal Integration page.

Important!

To set up the Viber integration, you will need to configure a Viber bot on your own. For more details, see the official Rakuten Viber for business page. Bot registration and maintenance is handled and billed on Viber’s side, separately from the EasyBusy Chats platform — for more information on Viber’s pricing, see the Chatbot Rate Card page.

Setting Up the Viber Bot Integration

To connect your Viber bot to the system, go to the Control Panel in the console and follow the steps below:

Under Accounts / Social:

  1. Locate Viber Bot and click the settings button (gear icon).

On the next page:

  1. Enter a name for the account (this name will be displayed in the system interface);
  2. Enter the bot token you received from Viber;
  3. Enter a welcome message for new users (this message is automatically sent in response to a user launching the bot via /start);
  4. If needed, enable the autoreply and configure it (message text, timer);
  5. Select an AI assistant (if needed). To create a new one or manage existing ones, click AI assistant management (the autoreply must be enabled for the assistant to work in a chat). Learn more about AI tools in Chats here;
  6. If needed, enable auto-assignment by selecting Round Robin — in this mode, the system evenly distributes incoming requests among users;
  7. Click + Add User to specify who will have access to this integration.

After clicking + Add User, a new row will appear where you can:

  1. Select the user you want to add;
  2. Set the access level (All Chats or Only Assigned Chats). The Only Assigned Chats access level narrows the user’s visibility to only those chats assigned to them;

To revoke a user’s access, click the trash icon next to that user.

  1. Once you have finished configuring the connection, click Add.

You will see a status of Adding — wait a moment (this usually takes a few seconds) and refresh the page. The status should change to Ready.

Usage

From this point on, all client messages sent to your bot will be stored in the system. You can view and send messages via the interface under the Viber Bot tab (Chats module → Viber Bot tab). If you have added multiple accounts, you can switch between them using the dropdown menu.

For more information about the platform’s features, see the Chats Module page.

Common Integration Errors

The following describes potential issues you may encounter while working with the platform, along with steps to resolve them.

“Failed to save settings. The error is: invalidAuthToken” when connecting a Viber bot

This error occurs when an invalid token is entered during bot account setup.

Solution: Make sure the token is correct and try again. If the error persists, try regenerating the token directly in Viber and use the new one.
